Thinking about Cities, Then and Now
Getting Started

The lessons in this issue allow students to “visit” eighteenth century Philadelphia in order to encourage them to think about communities as “organisms.” Students become “time tourists,” reading a detailed description of the city sights, following a map, and meeting various people on the tour.

Note: This is an archival publication dating back to 1990 and any supplements or suggestions for off-site education may not be available.
